Crest Electronics, Inc. was created in 1974 when the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) industry was in its infancy. Irv Rossman, founder of Crest Electronics, saw the need for CCTV and quickly moved to make it an industry filled with quality products and ethical values. He co-founded the Security Industry Association (SIA) as a means to maintain the integrity of the industry.

For over 30 years now, Crest has continuously strived to maintain those values that are essential in today’s competitive marketplace. Building quality products and backing them with incredible customer service are the daily goals of everyone at Crest Electronics.

THE EVOLUTION OF CREST ELECTRONICS AND CCTV

1974 - Crest Electronics enters the CCTV manufacturing market as a pioneer, founded by Irv Rossman
1976 - Crest co-founds the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to preserve quality and ethics in the CCTV industry
1985 - Dennis Castelli is named CEO of Crest
1986 - CCTMA advisor to the Closed Circuit TV Manufacturers Association
1993 - CrestmanSM was introduced to promote Crest’s outstanding customer service
1996 - The Team Crest program introduced a new era in CCTV buying
1998 - Crest expands, increasing their warehouse/office space by 3 times to accommodate their growth
2000 - Crest unveils their new logo
2000 - Arden Thoburn is named National Sales Manager of Crest
2001 - David Castelli is named President of Crest
2001 - Crest introduces digital storage equipment with industry leading compression
2003 - Crest introduces their 2nd generation PC-based DVR
2004 - Crest introduces the industries only multiplatform DVR software
2006 - Crest manufactures their own embedded DVR
2007 - Crest manufactures their own line of of PTZs
2007 - Crest brands their exclusive multi-platform software as CrestLink™
